The Manitoba government has made a commitment to expand the Trans-Canada Highway between Falcon Lake and the Manitoba-Ontario border, ensuring that it consists of four lanes of traffic. As part of this commitment, the government has given priority to twinning a 700-meter section of the highway near the border, aligning it with Ontario's newly constructed four-lane highway.

Significant progress is currently underway, including activities such as tree clearing, to facilitate the expansion of the highway. The project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2024, providing improved infrastructure and enhanced connectivity for motorists.

Recognized as a crucial component of the national highway system, the Trans-Canada Highway holds great importance for Manitoba's communities, as well as for the province's trade and tourism industries. The expansion efforts will contribute to the efficiency and safety of transportation, benefiting both local residents and visitors to the region.
