These projects will include 943 MW of wind power and 825 MW of photovoltaic solar installations. Over 60% of the projects in Italy are already in an advanced stage of development.
Italy has been a focal point for Repsol's international expansion in the renewable energy sector, as the country offers significant potential and opportunities to strengthen the company's position in key European markets.
Repsol has established an office in Milan to oversee its portfolio and potential future assets in Italy. Through acquisitions and the recent purchase of Asterion Energies, Repsol has assembled a portfolio of projects located in various regions, including Puglia, Lazio, Sardinia, Umbria, Sicily, Basilicata, Molise, and Tuscany.
The company plans to commence construction of its first two photovoltaic solar plants in the Puglia region of southern Italy in the near future. These plants will have a combined capacity of 11 MW.
